Three easy steps to open and use the Hurl-e

Step 1
Open bag

  • Grip and pull front edge outwards
  • Insert hand in bag and fully open

Step 2
Form the bib/chute

  • Spread "upper side panels" wide to approx. 120 degrees
  • Pull front edge of bag outwards approx. 1 inch

Coherent patients - hand held

  • Grasp upper side panels
  • Bib/chute provides "privacy shield/splash guard"

Step 3b
Impaired patients - hands free

  • Open the neck strap "packet"
  • Slide back panel under impaired patient's chin like a baby bib
  • Secure neck strap by removing tape release liner on the side panel

Step 1
Close the bag

  • Push the side panels inwards at the center point (fold the bag in on itself)
  • Push the front/back of the bag together to close fully
  • Fold the upper side panels inwards to flatten

Fold upper portion over and down

  • Fold the now flattened upper half of bag over and down

Note: most paramedics are satisfied only closing the Hurl-e® to this point.

Crimp each corner closed by bending stiffener inwards

  • Grasp each upper corner of the folded bag and bend inwards using the stiffeners
